“Half of bank users are having accounts with KB bank(55.3%) or NH(52.8%)”

 

¡ Customers use 2~3 banks in general (average 2.9 banks)

     - Only 17% use 1 bank. Users of 4 or more banks are 29.9%
     - 40’s and the higher income tend to use more banks, but no significant 
difference found

 

¡ Banks with the most customers are KB bank(55.3%), NH(52.8%)
     - Followed by Woori bank(33.6%), Shinhan bank(31.4%), Hana bank
(15.6%), and IBK bank(14.6%)
     - More than 60% of Seoul/Gyunggi area customers use KB bank, while more 
than 70% of all area  except Seoul/Gyunggi and Youngnam area customers use NH

 

¡ Half of bank users choose their primary bank (single answer) as NH(24.4%), KB bank(24.2%)

     - Among each bank users, NH has relatively higher *customer concentration rate than KB bank
       (* customer concentration rate : portion of primary customers among each bank users)

 

¡ Using a certain bank as a primary account is majorly because of habitual reason rather than product/service difference
     - Reasons for choosing a primary bank include ‘used to use the bank for long 
time’, ‘close to  house/work’, ‘wage transfer’, or ‘a lot of branches’ rather than ‘product/service preference’
     - KB bank shows its strengths on ‘security/reliability’, while Woori bank and 
SC first bank are  relatively strong at ‘charge/fee’, ‘Internet banking’
